Miracles still happen, it turns out, because Daryll-Ann is returning to earth. In the original line-up, no less. In the spring of 2004, the band decided to stop rather abruptly after more than 15 years, but now, twenty years later, a new spring has dawned with comeback album Spring.

Listening to Spring, it immediately becomes clear why Daryll-Ann has come back together, because the chemistry drips off the songs in globs, nothing suggests that this is the first new work in twenty years. Seemingly effortlessly, Jelle Paulusma, Anne Soldaat and the rest of the band manoeuvre through subdued folk, rattling garage rock and dreamy alt-country, with a synergy that made Daryll-Ann one of the country's most beloved indie bands in the 90s.
